Abstract
The development of information technology that is growing rapidly is able to change the pettern of people’s lives in terms of fulfilling in formation. Ease of accessing the internet and supported by complete media facilities make Cybernet activities increasingly increasing. Every development must always be accompanied by positive and negative impacts, including technological developments. One of the bad influeces that teenagers often experience in cyberspace is Cyberbullying. Several studies have shown the existence of cyberbullying behavior in adolescent, one of which is in high school adolescents. This study aims to determinr the relationship between Emotional Intellegence and Cyberbullying Tendency in Adolencest at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. This research population was 8th grade student at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta as many as 149 student. The research sample were 109 students who were determined by proportional stratified sampling technique. Collecting research data using a questionnaire. The conclusion of this research were that the emotional intelligence of 8th grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta Middle School was mostly high (47%), cyberbullying behavior of 8th grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta Middle School was mostly low (71%), and there were a relationship between emotional intelligence and cyberbullying behavior in first grade students 8 SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta (pv = 0.000)
