Abstract

Caries is a damage to the hard tissues of the teeth caused by the activity of carbohydrate fermentation by acid-producing bacteria lead to demineralization. Disruption of the demineralization balance with the remineralization process resulting in cavities in the teeth or localized damage to the network. The role of microorganisms is very important to the process of dental caries which is also supported by other factors. Beginning The occurrence of the dental caries process is characterized by an increase in the activity of microorganisms in the oral cavity. Streptococcus mutans is a microorganism the cause of dental caries which plays a very important role in the onset of dental caries. Chewing gum is a chewing gum that has a characteristic that it can be made to inflate bubbles. The colors are diverse and have a taste certain. Usually, chewing gum tends to be liked by children. LICIGUM candy is an innovation in the form of chewing gum which contains an active substance extracted from the peel of the lime fruit. This substance can kills disease-causing germs in the mouth. Besides, this product also contains cinnamon and stevia extracts which have functions other than as sweetener, as well as antibacterial. This product is here for both adults and adults until children who have a penchant for chewing gum so they don't need to be afraid of oral and dental diseases such as dental caries caused by by Streptococcus mutans bacteria. This business can increase the economic value by utilizing the fruit is wasted, besides that it is also safe for health because it uses natural ingredients. This chewing gum business deserves to be developed and funded because cheap raw materials in the form of lime peel, cinnamon, and stevia leaves. Besides that, can provide innovations in oral and dental disease drug preparations that are lacking in practical.
