Abstract
The study was conducted at the marketing division of PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) Madiun, which has the main focus on rollingstock service especially promoting the company products, maintaining relation wich customer and other marketing administration. One of the problems in the marketing division is the irregular layout of the archive space, making the room look cramped and full. The purpose of this study is to provide a solution for the layout of documents and shelves in the archive room to make it neater and orderly. The Activity Based Costing (ABC) method is used to determine the layout through the level of importance of the related item. In addition to these methods, the 5R (Compact, Neat, Clean, Caring, Diligent) method is also used to improve efficiency, productivity, quality and work safety. Based on the results of the study obtained classification A of 21.54%; B 23.47%; and C, 54.98%, respectively, have a high, medium and low importance so that a good layout can be determined. Application of 5R (Concise, Neat, Clean, Clean, Diligent) in this archive space is still not optimal.
