Abstract

This study aims to 1) To analyze social conflicts reflected in the film The Zookeeper’s Wife. 2) To analyze the functions of social conflicts reflected in the film The Zookeeper Wife. 3) Analyze the impacts of the social conflict in the film The Zookeeper Wife. This study uses social conflict theory from Lewis Coser. This research includes qualitative descriptive research methods in this study is to show, eliminate, and describe, the forms and consequences of social conflict in the film The Zookeeper Wife. This study also applies literature study data collection methods such as data collection techniques that use books as the object of research and collect and analyzes documents. In this research, the writer founds four of the eight forms of social conflict, namely racial and ethnic conflicts, conflicts of interest, interpersonal conflicts, and conflicts between countries or nations. Four functions of social conflict in The Zookeeper's film are found, namely conflict can strengthen loose group solidarity, conflict with other groups can lead to solidarity in other groups and groups, and conflict can also cause isolated community members to have an active role, and conflict for communication. The consequences of social conflict are summarized in five points and four points are identified in The Zookeeper's Wife, namely the stronger sense of group solidarity, changes in individual personality, disruption of social values and norms, and loss of property (materials), and human victims.
