Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant changes to the lifestyle of the world's people. Humans are required to carry out activities at home to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This condition results in a static lifestyle. Sports activities are one of the efforts to maintain the body's immunity. Currently, many sports facilities have returned to be opened. Sports facilities need to adapt to current conditions to overcome the boredom of a static lifestyle without neglecting the comfort aspect. The biophilic design is projected to be the main concept in overcoming these problems which is applied to the design object of a sports center located in Kebumen. The purpose of this design is to identify the principles of the appropriate biophilic design approach to be applied in the design object. The result of the design is a biophilic concept that provides the true presence of nature through manipulating the entrance to the circulation of air and lighting so that it meets the comfort aspect, and takes natural components as the main material in the building.
