Abstract
Surakarta is one of the main tourist destinations, Surakarta is the right choice for promotion, especially promoting furniture products. In the construction of production plants often have a negative impact on the environment. The furniture industrial factory, has residual production waste. The use of sustainable architecture is expected to minimize waste pollution by applying waste treatment techniques, so that it can be beneficial especially to the environment. The goal is to design an furniture factory with a sustainable architectural approach. It is hoped that it can be a solution to increase product promotion and marketing and can be an education for visitors. From the results of the analysis of the building design, it is necessary to have a representative building which is able to accommodate all furniture production activities as well as educational facilities for visitors. The design applies a sustainable architecture approach with the main point of reducing energy use. Using skylights and increase openings in buildings, so that lighting and ventilation can be done naturally. Utilization of recycled from waste of production that it can be used as a new product can reduce the waste and it can be an education for visitors. Site and land use of the building designs are able to adapt to the local climate. The pavement tread pays attention to aspects of rainwater infiltration. Site design by creating an "artificial forest" which is expected to be able to serve as a catchment area also vegetation that is able to reduce negative impacts on buildings and the surrounding environment.
