Abstract

The Kedungbanteng Ex-Sugar Factory area is one of the legacy of the heyday of sugar factories in Indonesia, especially on the island of Java. Located in Gondang Baru, Gondang, Sragen Regency, Central Java. The existence of the Kedungbanteng Sugar Factory has disappeared but there are still buildings left in the area known as Omah Londo tourism. Some of the remaining buildings are in poor condition and abandoned. The buildings that still exist take part in the short history so that they have been designated as cultural heritage sites and have become a part of tourism in Sragen Regency. There is a lot of potential in the area, especially historical, environmental and cultural values. From the local government, there have been discussions for the development of the Kedungbanteng Sugar Factory Ex-Factory Area as a tourist destination. This is to realize the vision and mission in the development plan to make Sragen a potential growth for sustainable productive tourism. The problems described, the purpose of planning and designing the development of the Kedungbanteng Sugar Factory Ex-Factory Area as a tourism destination based on sustainable tourism. The emphasis on sustainable tourism focuses on historical sustainability, the environment and community empowerment by implementing a strategy to revitalize existing buildings and the area around the physical heritage of the Kedungbanteng Sugar Factory. The concept of development is obtained by architectural design along with space requirements that can be a place for activities in the area so that it can increase tourist visits and improve the economy in the Sragen area, especially Gondang District.
