Abstract

The new terminal raises new problems. The new Kartasura Terminal is located in the middle of a resident's village. This condition makes bus drivers reluctant to stop by the new Terminal because the access exit from the Terminal is very narrow, only one bus and one motorbike can pass. So that the stalls in the Terminal are deserted and damaged. The new Kartasura Terminal is adjacent to the TPS, this condition triggers the emergence of scavengers around Kartasura Terminal. Seeing the current condition, the kiosks in the Terminal have turned into karaoke places, and a place to buy and sell cigarettes. This can happen not only from the fact that the Terminal is quiet and close to the TPS, but the condition of HR (Human Resources) also affects. Because people have not been able to find solutions to make a better life. The Kartasura Terminal environment according to an Islamic perspective should be a muamalah environment. This is as stated in the Qur'an Surah Al Hujurat verse 13. In this case, humans should help each other to work together to build the civilization of the Kartasura Terminal environment in a way that is loved by Allah SWT. In this case, the author finds that in the Kartasura Terminal environment there are problems with the social environment and the lack of human resources in the community, so the author uses an Environmental Architecture and Behavior approach. In this regard, the authors choose a library for improving human resources because the library is the most common means of education and has age flexibility for users regardless of caste and social status. Libraries can also be designed to be flexible enough to respond to social and community issues in the Kartasura Terminal environment. Through the procurement of community-based social library buildings, it is hoped that human resources in the environment around Kartasura Terminal will increase and as a step to improve the public image of Kartasura Terminal. In procuring this library, the author hopes that the community will also participate in mutual cooperation in building a library, as did Diebedo Francis Kere in the educational facilities project in Gando and Hassan Fathy in his work on building a house in Gourna. Through the procurement of community-based social library buildings, it is hoped that human resources in the environment around Kartasura Terminal will increase and as a step to improve the public image of Kartasura Terminal. In procuring this library, the author hopes that the community will also participate in mutual cooperation in building a library, as did Diebedo Francis Kere in the educational facilities project in Gando and Hassan Fathy in his work on building a house in Gourna.
