Abstract

UKM Satrio Utomo is one of the batik UKM in Kedunggudel Sukoharjo. This UKM was founded in 2010 which produces two types of batik, namely written batik and stamped batik. The production process for hand-drawn batik and stamped batik uses remazol as raw material for synthetic dyes. Written batik uses 100% remazol dye, while stamped batik uses recycled remazol dye.This study aims to calculate, analyze and provide suggestions for improving the level of eco-efficiency regarding the use of remazole dye. Data processing using the Life Cycle Assessment method with the help of SimaPro 9.3 software which aims to compare the environmental impacts resulting from the production of the two types of batik, the results show that the eco-efficiency index for hand-drawn batik is 1.03 and stamped batik is 1.07, meaning the eco-efficiency of batik. the stamp is bigger than the written batik. This indicates that the production of written batik has a greater impact on the environment while stamped batik has a better percentage in terms of economy and ecology. The proposed improvement in this study is to increase the production of stamped batik using recycled remazol dye because the net value obtained is greater and in written batik, namely the replacement of synthetic dyes into natural dyes because natural dyes are more environmentally friendly and the batik results will be more classic.
