Abstract
Instagram is a social media that has the most influence compared to other applications. Instagram can be used to build personal branding to get benefits that can affect life. Personal branding can be used to grow perceptions, values, skills, characteristics and achievements that have been obtained by someone. This study aims to determine the strategy of building personal branding on Instagram for students. This research is a qualitative research that produces data in the form of descriptive words. Collecting data using semi-structured interviews, then analyzing them using a thematic analysis approach. The criteria for respondents in this study were active students or college students, having an Instagram account that had been active for at least 1 month. The results of this study are that all respondents have carried out personal branding development strategies starting from the characteristics, development, and promotion of their Instagram accounts. One respondent has been consistent in carrying out personal branding development strategies, while the five respondents have not been consistent in building personal branding due to various activities.
