Abstract
Treatment of ARI disease caused by bacteria can be overcome using antibiotics. The success of antibiotic treatment is highly dependent on the accuracy of its use. If the percentage of accuracy is high, the greater the achievement of the desired therapy (patient recovery). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of antibiotics in pediatric patients with ARI inpatients at PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta Hospital in 2019-2021 from the 4T aspect (Right indication, Right drug, Right patient, and Right dose). The research method used is observation with retrospective data collection. Collecting data by collecting patient medical records with inclusion criteria for pediatric patients diagnosed with ARI and using antibiotic therapy. The sample used was 63 hospitalized patients. The results showed that the use of a single antibiotic in the form of ampicillin was 47.61%, cefixime 15.87%, amoxicillin 12.69%, cefotaxime 12.69%, ceftriaxone 3.17%, chloramphenicol 1.58%, meropenem 1.58%, azithromycin 1.58%, erythromycin 1.58%, and the combination antibiotic amoxicillin + ampicillin 1.58%. The use of antibiotics that meet the criteria for the right indication is 100%, the right drug is 68.25%, the patient is 100%, and the dose is 67.44%.
