Abstract
This study aims to (1) identify the physical workload of operators in brick making who are still carrying out manual material handling (MMH) activities, (2) analyze the risks to the activities carried out by operators in the brick making process and (3) provide suggestions repairs to reduce the risk of injury to the operator. The object of this research is the operators of the Brujul Village Brick Industry Center. This study uses the Quick Exposure Check (QEC) method. Based on the test results, it is known that there are still errors in the working process at the stirring work station with an exposure level value of 71.59%. The work station that is considered to have a high risk level and requires immediate action is the stirring work station which has an exposure level value of 71.59%, with input in the form of redesigning the length of the hoe handle, based on the measurement results using the QEC method, it can be concluded that the exposure level value at the stirring work station, the value decreased by 6.82% from 71.59% to 64.77%.
