Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of investment, wages, human development index and employment opportunities on population migration on the island of Sumatra in 2015-2020. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analytical model used in this study is panel data regression. The results of the model selection test prove that the fixed effect model (FEM) was chosen as the best model. The results of the t-test analysis show that investment and human development index have a significant effect on population migration, while wages and employment opportunities have no significant effect on population migration. The F test results prove that the model used exists. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.962311 or 96.23 percent, which means that the variation in the population migration variable can be explained by the investment variables, wages, human development index, and employment opportunities. The remaining 3.77 percent is explained by other independent variables that are not included in the model.
