Abstract

A country can be said to be prosperous if its people’s economy can control inflation well.However, inflation in Indonesia is unstable, this can disrupt the country’s economy and the welfare of the people. The purpose of this study is to estimate the effect of the money supply, interest rates and exchange rates on the inflation rate in Indonesia in 1997-2018 with the error correction model analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously variable money supply, interest rates, exchange rates have a significant effect on the inflation rate in Indonesia in 1997-2018. Meanwhile, partially the money supply variable and interest rates have a positive and significant effect on the level of inflation in Indonesia in 1997-2018, while the exchange rate variable had no effect on the inflation rate in Indonesia in 1997-2018. The government and Bank Indonesia must pay more attention when they want to make policies regarding the money supply, interest rates and other factors that can affect the inflation rate so that the economy in Indonesia can be better.
