Abstract

Foreign Exchange Reserves are one of the important indicators to see the strength and weakness of a country's economic fundamentals. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the Foreign Exchange Reserves in 4 selected Asean countries. The analytical method used in this study is panel data regression analysis, with cross-sectional covering 4 selected countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and factors in the time-seriescovering the 2015-2019 period. The independent variables used are Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Money Supply, Exports, Inflation, and External Debt. The results showed that the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) was chosen as the best estimated model. This model exists with a determinant coefficient (R^2) of 0.987008, Exports, Inflation and External Debt have a positive effect on Foreign Exchange Reserves in the 4 selected ASEAN Countries, meanwhile, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the Money Supply have no effect on Foreign Exchange Reserves in 4 selected ASEAN countries.
