Abstract

The existence of a leading sector can increase growth for the regional economy. The purpose of this research is to find out which sectors are the leading ones in Muara Enim Regency for the 2018-2020 period. In this study using secondary data in the form of data series taken from BPS sources, the data is in the form of observations on the GRDP of Muara Enim Regency on the basis of 2010 constant prices according to business fields in the 2018-2020 period compared to the GRDP of South Sumatra Province on the basis of constant 2010 by business field in the 2018-2020 period. The method used and to determine the leading sector is the Location Quotient Shift Share analysis, the Location Quotient looks for the average value if it is more than 1 (LQ>1) then it can be categorized as a base sector if LQ <1 then the sector is not Then the basis for Shift Share analysis is to find a competitive advantage or strong competitiveness.sake.of this result, the leading sector in Muara Enim Regency in the 2018-2020 period is the mining & quarrying sector
