Abstract

Cadres have an important role in the implementation of posyandu. Among the tasks of cadres are collecting data on children or toddlers, measuring children's height and recording the results, providing additional food, providing vitamins and education about health nutrition. The height check is intended to detect whether a child has stunting problems. This study aims to describe the skills of cadres in performing early detection of stunting in the working area of the Gilingan Public Health Center, Surakarta City. This type of research is a quantitative research with observation method with research instrument that is a checklist that will be observed by the researcher. The sample was calculated using the Slovin formula then the samples for each group used the subgroup formula. The results obtained that the majority of the characteristics of cadres are high school education as much as 45 (60.8%), with household work as many as 63 (85.1%), marital status is married with a total of 72 (97.3%), and years of being a cadre >10 years amounted to 30 (40.5%). The majority of cadres in performing early detection of stunting were in the good category as many as 66 cadres (89.2%). The last point was not carried out by all cadres. Posyandu cadres skills based on the characteristics of the majority of respondents in the good category. The conclusion of this study is that the skills of cadres in the Gilingan Health Center Work Area, Surakarta are mostly in the good category, but cannot interpret height results.
