Abstract
The shallot sprinkler machine is a machine used by farmers to water the shallot plantations. We can find this red onion sprinkler machine in various places of shallot plantations, but the sprinkler machines currently used still use fuel oil and those already using a battery (battery) with a separate charger system, it is less effective if used on land. The plantation is quite extensive and requires a long watering time. The author will develop an onion sprinkler machine which was originally powered by fuel oil or a separate battery charger which is considered less effective, then it will be developed by implementing a renewable energy generation system, namely photovoltaic (PV) or solar panels. The design of this machine is in the form of a floating ship that will go down the ditches in the shallot plantations during the watering process. This study aims to introduce a modern agricultural system by utilizing technology and renewable energy systems, as well as to answer the problem of the lack of labor in the agricultural sector. This research requires the main components to support the success of the research to be carried out, such as a 50 WP solar panel as the main energy source to be used, then a 12V 5ah battery as an energy storage, solar charger controller pwm 20A as control charging and output 2 from the source. energy, a bigle pump 1100 gph 12V as an output that will work as a sprinkler, as well as a spray potentiometer as a water output controller. The methods used in the development of the solar sprinkler machine are literature review, needs analysis, design, manufacture, and testing. This solar-powered onion sprinkler machine has been built and works well, where the watering control with a potentio sprayer can be adjusted according to needs. This machine works effectively on a sprayer potentiation rating of 25% to 50% with a watering area of 40cm to 70cm. In addition, this machine has a 12V DC motor as a driving force for the machine which will go down each trench during watering.
