Abstract
Background: Dysmenorrhea is gynecological problem found in adolescent girls, usually occuring on the first to third day of the menstrual cycle. Risk factors that can lead to dysmenorrhea include body mass index. The pravelenve of primary dysmenorrhea is 54.89% and secondary dysmenorrhea is 9.36%. The purpose of this research was to determine and analyze the correlation of body mass index with the level of primary dysmenorrhea pain at Pondok Pesantren An-Nahl Purbalingga. Methods: The research approach used is observational quantitative study with cross-sectional research design. The number of samples used as the subject of this study was taken through purposive sampling technique as many as 75 respondents. The results of this study provide data on the level primary dysmenorrhea pain which was assessed using the NRS (Numeric Rating Scale) and measurement of height and weight to determine body mass index. Results: The Chi-square test stated that there was a correlation between body mass index and the level of primary dysmenorrhea pain, the p-value is 0.001 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Body mass index has a significant correlation with the level of primary dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls at Pondok Pesantren An-Nahl Purbalingga
