Abstract

Surakarta Cat and dog center is a shelter that has a broader meaning (in this study). Not only as a temporary home for abandoned dogs and cats, the cat and dog center provides other additional facilities such as a vet room, grooming room, cat and dog food and accessories, play room, isolation room (for dogs and cats who are sick or need special care). ), as well as a cat cafe that provides a place for cat lovers to enjoy caffe-style dishes and interact with cats there. The building's point of view is made based on tropical architectural patterns, namely the type of architecture that provides answers/adaptations to the shape of the building to the influence of the tropical climate, where the tropical climate has certain characteristics caused by the heat of the sun, high humidity, rainfall, wind movement, and so on. Literature studies are carried out in several ways, including surveys conducted by taking existing data based on the location to be designed to get an overview of spatial planning, special requirements, etc. Comparative study by taking building design data that was built in several surrounding locations to get the boundaries and design functions that will be applied in the design. Analysis or synthesis is to get data by detailing the object under study by sorting out information or collecting and combining information.
