Abstract

The high market demand for electronic goods makes the company try to increase its production targets. No exception at PT. Hartono Palace of Technology. The problem faced by the company is that the daily production target is often not achieved in the production of active speakers on the assembly line final assembly line D which produces speakers with the PAS 8E22NF type. One of the causes of not achieving the production target is the operator's unbalanced workload, which causes high idle time on the line. Line balancing and the principle of the economics of movement are the methods needed in solving the trajectory balance problem. This research aims to increase line efficiency in the final assembly line D so as to evaluate bottlenecks that hinder the assembly flow and speaker production. The method used to balance the trajectory is the time and motion study method with the principles of movement economy and the line balancing heuristic method RPW (Ranked Positional Weights) and KWM (Killbridge and Waster). In the existing condition, the line efficiency value is 64.37%. After improving the work method with the time and motion study method, the line efficiency value is 83.82%. In contrast, by using the RPW and KWM line balancing methods, the line efficiency value is 88.84% and 89.24%, respectively.
