Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of increasing systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic more than 90 mmHg which is often referred to as "The silent killer" and is the number one cause of death in the world when accompanied by comorbidities. It is necessary to adhere to the right diet for hypertensive patients because it has an impact on reducing cholesterol and blood pressure in patients so that it has a big impact on the quality of life for patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between dietary compliance with the quality of life of hypertensive patients with comorbidities at the Baki Sukoharjo Public Health Center. This type of research is a quantitative research with a correlative method. The sample in this study were hypertensive patients with comorbidities at the Baki Sukoharjo Health Center totaling 90 patients. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The correlation technique uses Pearson correlation. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The results showed as many as 18 hypertensive 2 patients with comorbidities (20%) who adhered to the hypertension diet, and 72 patients (80%) who were declared non-adherent in undergoing the hypertension diet. The results also showed that there were 20 (22.2%) hypertensive patients with comorbidities who had good quality of life and 70 patients (77.8%) had poor quality of life. The correlation significance value is 0.01, which means that there is a correlation between hypertension diet adherence and quality of life, the Pearson correlation value shows 0.788 which means that the correlation is in the category of strong correlation, while the type of relationship is positive, which means if, so it can be interpreted if If the dietary compliance is high, the quality of life is also high, or vice versa, if the dietary compliance is low, the quality of life is also low Keywords : Hypertension, Dietary compliance, Quality of Life
