Abstract

Work accidents in the weaving 1 are caused by hot environmental conditions, lots of flying thread dust, noise, lack of hazard symbols in the work area, and lack of awareness in complying with K3 regulations, especially the use of PPE. The purpose of this study is to minimize the number of work accidents by knowing the risk value, sequence of events, and factors causing the incident. The research method used is the HIRA method for classifying the risk level of each hazard and the SCAT method for finding factors causing work accidents. The results of this study are accidents requiring control of fingers exposed to machine combs with a relative risk of 16, being pinched by a machine of 12, and being hit by a cutter of 8. These accidents were caused by fatigue, drowsiness, age, and not wearing PPE. Therefore, supervision, socialization and direction of work safety, installation of K3 symbols, and the use of PPE are very important in realizing zero accidents. The implication of this research is to provide an understanding in the identification of hazards and the application of K3 to create safe actions at work.
