Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in class X IPS I at SMA Negeri 1 Pulokulon. This type of research is classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles, each cycle is passed with four stages, namely: (1) Planning, (2) Implementation, (3) Observation, (4) Evaluation and Reflection. The subjects in this study were teachers and students of class X IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Pulokulon totaling 36 students consisting of 14 male students and 22 female students. Data collection techniques used in the form of interviews, observations, tests, documentation. The achievement indicators in this study are indicators of achievement of learning outcomes which are set at least 70% of 36 students who get an economic score of 70. The results of this study indicate that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve student economic learning outcomes both from pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. Before the action was taken, the percentage of student learning outcomes was only (30.56%) as many as 11 students who had completed and 25 students had not completed with an average score of62.1667. After taking action in the first cycle, the percentage of student learning outcomes became (47.22%) as many as 17 students completed and 19 students had not completed with an average value of68,9677, and after the action in cycle II the percentage of student learning outcomes became (77.78%) as many as 28 students completed and 8 students had not completed with an average value of 76.6667. Based on the data from the research, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve the learning outcomes of students in class X IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Pulokulon.
