Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the management of the creative industry for blangkon handicrafts in Serengan Surakarta. This type of research is a qualitative grounded theory. Data collection techniques used include: interviews, observation and documentation. To ensure the validity of the data, the researchers used triangulation. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing/verification. The resource persons in this study are the owners of the creative industry for blangkon handicrafts in Serengan Surakarta. The results of this study indicate that 1) good workforce management must determine several aspects, namely commitment, high productivity, competence, and a conducive work climate. To achieve these aspects in managing the creative industry of blangkon handicrafts, there are standard wages and bonuses for workers. 2) There are several ways to improve the quality of making blangkon products, namely quality standards in making blangkon, supervision in manufacturing, and innovations in making blangkon to follow the current target market. 3) Good marketing management in the blangkon craft industry by determining several aspects, namely marketing targets, marketing strategies, and programs in marketing blangkon products.
