Abstract
The objectives of this study were (1) To describe the characteristics of character values in Barongan art in children at the Ridwan Cinta Seni studio, Todanan village, Todanan district, Blora regency in 2019. (2) To describe the strengthening of creative character in Barongan arts in children in the studio Ridwan Cinta Seni Todanan village, Todanan district, Blora regency in 2019. (3) To describe the strengthening of independent character in Barongan art in children at the Ridwan Cinta Seni studio, Todanan village, Todanan district, Blora regency in 2019. This research is a type of qualitative research. The place of this research was conducted 2 in the Ridwan Cinta Seni studio, Todanan village, Todanan district, Blora regency. The data in this study are in the form of strengthening the creative and independent character in the art of Barongan in children at the Ridwan Cinta Seni sanggar, the Ridwan Cinta Seni, Todanan village, Todanan district, Blora regency. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. While the data analysis technique in this study used a qualitative analysis model of Miles Huberman. The results of this study indicate that the character values in barongan art at the Ridwan Cinta Seni Studio, Todanan village, Todanan district, Blora regency include the values of the character of creativity and independence, besides that there are also character values of love for the country, warmth, self-confidence, and work. hard. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the strengthening of creative character carried out in the art of Barongan in children at the Ridwan Cinta Seni sanggar in Todanan village is by giving children the opportunity to imagine, be creative, and explore the movements being taught as well as the development in terms of music so they don't monotonous seen by the audience. The strengthening of independent character is carried out in the Barongan art for children at the Ridwan Cinta Seni studio, Todanan village by giving assignments every week so that children can practice independently at home.
