Abstract

Increasing or decreasing performance in the company is a natural thing today. Good performance is optimal performance, where every employee is able to know and complete the main tasks and functions and be able to achieve targets and get the results that have been planned by the company. Among other factors, work motivation is one of the determinants of employee performance. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work motivation and employee performance. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a positive relationship between work motivation and employee performance. The method used is a correlational quantitative approach. Sampling using purposive sampling technique at PT. Sinarfood Healthindo Sukoharjo with a total number of respondents of 53 employees. This study uses two scales, namely a scale of work motivation and a scale of performance. The data analysis technique uses the product moment. Based on the results obtained, the correlation coefficient value (0.790) and (p) is 0.000 (p <0.01) which indicates a very significant positive relationship between work motivation and employee performance. The categorization results show that the level of work motivation is high with the empiric mean (RE) of and the hypothetical mean (RH) of. Meanwhile, the performance categorization is high with the empiric mean (RE) of and the hypothetical mean (RH) of. The effective contribution of work motivation with a performance is 0.790, which means that work motivation contributes 62.41% to the performance and 37.59% is influenced by other variables not examined in this research.
