Abstract

Introduction : Indonesia ranks-5 with Type 2 Diabetes mellitus in the world with amount 9,1 million. One of the factors that influence the increased blood glucose level is the intake of nutrients (macro-micro). The tendency of people to consume high carbohydrate, high fat and low in micronutrients. Objective : To determine the relationship of vitamin A intake with blood glucose levels in DMT2 patients at the Tawangsari Sukoharjo Health Center. Methods : uses observational method with cross sectional design. The number of samples is 27 respondents. Sampling technique using consecutive sampling. The data used are primary data. The method of collecting vitamin A intake data is by interviewing directly with recall of food intake using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire and measuring blood glucose levels by using spectrophotometry through veins as much as 3ml then separating plasma and serum by centrifugation method. The method of data analysis uses the Corellation Pearson product moment. Results : Based on the results of the univariate test, it was found that the majority of respondents consumed normal vitamin A intake by 96,3%. The majority of fasting blood glucose levels fall into the category of diabetes, by 81,5%. Conclusion : Based on the Pearson product moment test results showed that there was no correlation between vitamin A intake and fasting blood glucose levels in patients with DMT2, with a p-value of 0,437(>0,05). there is no relationship between vitamin A intake and fasting blood glucose levels in patients with DMT2 at Tawangsari Sukoharjo Health Center.
