Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine: (1) Effect of Profitability on Capital Structure, (2) Effect of Asset Structure on Capital Structure, (3) Effect of Sales Growth on Capital Structure. The population used in this research is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2019. While the samples to be tested are manufacturing companies in the consumer goods industry in the 2019 period. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, and companies that meet the sampling criteria a total of 32 companies. Secondary data using documentation data collection method. The analytical methods used for this research are: multiple linear regression test, classical assumption test, goodness of fit test, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate that profitability has a negative but not significant effect on capital structure, asset structure has a positive and significant effect on capital structure, and sales growth has a negative and significant effect on capital structure.
