Abstract
Style is basically a person's fashion that is always visible and characteristic. Style is a habit that is inherent in a person in carrying out his leadership duties, in the realm of public organizations, the role of a leader is expected to be able to manage his various resources to achieve organizational goals with a style that is appropriate to the work environment and able to adapt to organizational situations and conditions. In general, this study aims to determine what the transformational leadership style is being applied by the principal in leading. This research was located in Sukoharjo Regency using a qualitative descriptive research type. The data collection instrument is interviews with informants or sources, namely oral or structured interviews, and Whatsapp chat messages. The data analysis technique in this study was conducted qualitatively. From this research, it can be concluded that the leadership style applied by the principal in several schools in Sukoharjo Regency is by the leadership style proposed by Eileen P. Kelly in the review results of the book by Bernard M. Bass, namely the Transformational leadership style. The results showed that the Transformational leadership style tends to be used by school principals to manage teachers and school employees.
