Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar, 2) the role of the principal in improving the quality of accounting learning at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar. This research is a qualitative research with a ethnographic design. The subjects of this study were the principal, vice principal, accounting teacher and accounting students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Researchers used source triangulation. Data analysis techniques used data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that 1) management of facilities and infrastructure is carried out starting from a) planning in the form of proposals submitted by teachers related to learning needs, b) procurement by checking availability and considering teacher opinions and available funds, c) use or utilization according to needs in learning and paying attention to its availability and feasibility, d) routine, periodic, and incidental maintenance, e) deletion of items that are damaged and cannot be reused. 2) The role of the principal in improving the quality of learning includes a) planning, including adjusting the needs for facilities and infrastructure as well as training or workshops for teachers, b) strategies, including optimizing the use of learning tools and media, implementing supervision, collaborating with the community, c) the learning process, by adjusting the material and infrastructure, d) constraints, including the lack of interest in learning by students and the facilities available at home.
