Abstract

This study aims to: a) To find out the standard agreement adopted by Youtube with members; b) To find out the awarding of royalties for the use of songs by covering on Youtube; c) To find out the settlement of disputes regarding the awarding of royalties rather than cover songs on Youtube. The type of research used is descriptive. This research approach is a juridical-empirical approach to norms in the form of Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. The results of this study are the policy given by YouTube to members stating that members have copyright over published content as explained in Article 9 paragraph (1) of Copyright Law No. 28 of 2014. Protection of the morals and economics of the creator as explained in the Act Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright consists of 2 rights, namely Article 4 that copyright as referred to in Article 3 letter a is an exclusive right consisting of moral rights and economic rights. Copyright can be transferred to other parties to announce or reproduce the work with the author's permission. Settlement of disputes regarding the awarding of royalties rather than cover songs on YouTube through reprimands, appeals. Articles 6 and 7 explain that in order to protect the moral rights referred to in Article 5 paragraph (1), the Author may possess: a) Copyright management information; b) Copyright electronic information.
