Abstract

This study aims to analyze and examine the effect of financial awards, professional training, professional recognition, social values and work environment on the career selection of accounting students as public accountants in the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The population in this study were all students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Accounting Program Program S-1. The sample in this study were the students of the Accounting Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business in the Class of 2015 and 2016 as many as 90 respondents. The technique to get the sample is using purposive sampling and convenience sampling. Data analysis in this study uses data quality testing and classical assumptions. The hypothesis testing in this study used multiple linear analysis, with the help of SPSS version 23.00. The results of this study indicate that financial rewards, professional recognition, and social values influence the career choices of accounting students as public accountants, while professional training and work environments do not affect the career choices of accounting students as public accountants.
