Abstract

This study aims to determine the relations between gratitude and burnout for nurses Dr. Moewardi Hospital. The hypothesis proposed that there is negative relation between gratitude and burnout for nurses at Hospital Dr. Moewardi. By using cluster sampling, the sample of this research are 102 nurses of 5 units in the Flamboyan building in Dr. Moeward Hospitali. Methods of data collection using a quantitative approach with Likert models. The instrument scale this research are scale of burnout and the scale of gratitude through content validity with expert judgment. Data were analyzed using product moment with SPSS 15.0 with the results of the hypothesis r xy = -0.625 and significant value of p = 0.000, which means there is a negative relation between gratitude to the level of burnout. The results were consistent with the hypothesis put forward. Therefore, when gratitude is high then the burnout is in the low levelst. The level of burnout classified in the lower category, indicated by the empirical mean of 84.10. While gratitude is high, as demonstrated by the empirical mean of 134.53.
