Abstract

This study aims at evaluating: (1) the differenct effect of learning strategy on learning mathematics outcomes. (2) the differenct effect of student activeness on mathematics learning outcomes. (3) the influence of interactions between learning strategy and the activeness of students towards mathematics learning outcomes. This study is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental research design. The population of this study is 81 students of 8th grade of SMP Al-Islam Kartasura ,Two classes were chosen for the sample of this study by cluster random sampling. The first class was treated using Cooperative Script strategy and the second class was treated using Problem Based Learning strategy. The data collection was conducted using test, questionnaire, and documentation. Morever, the data was analized using different number of cell analysis of variance with 5% significance level. The conclusion are: (1) there is an effect of the use of learning strategy on the results of cooperative script mathematics learning better than Problem Based Learning (2) there is no difference in the effect of the level o activity on the learning outcomes of mathematics. (3) there is no interaction between learning strategy and activeness of students towards mathematics learning outcomes.
