Abstract

Abstract Exclusive breastfeeding is an effort to prevent death and malnutrition problems in infants and toddlers. In 2016 the percentage of infants with exclusive breastfeeding in Karanganyar Sub-District was 36.5%. This study aims to analyze the relationship of education, work, knowledge, family support, and support of health workers with exclusive breastfeeding in Karanganyar Sub-District, Karanganyar District. This type of research is analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all mothers who had infants aged 6-12 months in the Karanganyar Health Center Work Area as many as 327 mothers. Samples taken were 181 mothers using Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data analysis using Chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between work (p = 0.009), knowledge (p = 0.008), family support (p= 0.012), and support from health workers (p = 0.018) with exclusive breastfeeding in Karanganyar Sub-District Karanganyar District, but there is no relationship with the level of maternal education (p = 0.627).
