Abstract

Non-formal Islamic education is one form of Islamic education that is carried out deliberately and orderly outside the school system, and through various delivery models, such as religious formation, majelis taklim, recitation, etc. The orphanage carries out several activities based on Islamic education to develop skills that foster children have. This research focuses on skills that foster children can develop through non-formal Islamic education activities and also the implementation of non-formal Islamic education carried out in orphanages LKSA Cabang Muhammadiyah Juwiring. The purpose of this research is to explain the skills acquired to the implementation of non-formal Islamic education activities and to explain the implementation of non-formal Islamic education. This research is a type of field research with a qualitative approach. Data collection in this research obtained through interview methods, documentation, and observation. Whereas for data analysis, this research was analyzed deductively which is one of the research methods derived from previous theories andd then related to the field. From the result of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there are several skills that foster children can develop. These skills are first personal skills in the form of being able to solve their problems, develop disciplin, and have a greater sense of responsibility. Second, sosial skills through form have a polite attitude and good behaviour, love for the young and respect the old, have self awareness/ sensitivity to the environment, and listening, reading, and speaking skills. And third vocational skills such as sewing and hand art will be useful for getting a job or creating jobs to live in the future. As for the activities carried out bythe institutions related to non-formal Islamic education is Tahfidzul Qur’an and the guidance of the aqidah and morals. The existence of the non-formal Islamic education activities in not to filling of activities in the orphanage only, but also to develop the potential and increase knowledge about religion so that the provision of foster children later.
