Abstract

The learning process is an important element for achieving success in learning. In the learning process students need active learning to get maximum results. With an active learning strategy can stimulate students to be more active, free to express both individually and in groups, so that lessons will be achieved better. With this active learning strategy, it is expected to increase student learning motivation. In fact the learning process in both general and religious subjects is still teacher-centered dominant and students are more passive as listeners. Especially in Islamic studies. Based on this background, the purpose of this study was to find out: the implementation of active learning strategies in improving students' motivation to learn fiqh in grade 1 students in MTs Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta, as well as what factors and factors that influence them. This research was conducted at MTs Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta and this research was included in the field research. The object of this study was taken from the teacher of fiqh. In collecting data, this research uses interview, observation and documentation methods. The results showed that the implementation of active learning strategies in improving students' learning motivation in fiqh lessons was conducted by the teacher by: choosing and using learning strategies that were appropriate to the learning objectives, material, abilities and characteristics of students. The teacher uses several active learning strategies, namely: Everyone is Teacher Here, Jigsaw Learning, Card Sort, Questions Student Have, Inquiring Minds what to Know. Factors that influence the application of active learning strategies in increasing learning motivation include: environment, infrastructure, intelligence, and class atmosphere.
