Abstract

This study aims to improve teacher skills and learning outcomes in Mathematics in Elementary School fifth grade students Soko 2 through approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) with Card Quiz. This research is a classroom action research. Subjects were teacher and students of class V Elementary School Soko 2, Miri, Sragen, amounting to 18 students. Data collection techniques in this research through tests, observations, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and qualitative. The results showed an increase in student responses that affect student learning outcomes in Mathematics volume material and beam cube. It can be seen from the learning activities that show an increase in student responses reflected in the active participation in learning with pre cycle percentage of 41.67%, 61.11% the first cycle and second cycle 84.72%. Student responses in regard to the learning process pre cycle percentage of 44.44%, 61.11% the first cycle and the second cycle 83.33%. The response of students in the percentage interest in the learning process pre cycle 43.06%, 62.50% the first cycle and the second cycle of 87.50%. Learning outcomes of students has increased, it can be seen from the results of the implementation of the learning process before action is 11.11% of students who completed the study. After becoming a rising action of 44.44% in the first cycle, and at the end of the action increased to 94.44%. The conclusion is that the application of the approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) with Card Quiz can improve student learning outcomes of Mathematics in the subjects V Elementary School Soko 2.
