Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a teaching method used by teachers so that students learn to think critically, have the skills to solve problems, and gain knowledge. As an Islamic Religious Education Teacher, not only is tasked with providing religious knowledge but is also tasked with forming students so that the knowledge given can be practiced in everyday life. The problem formulation discussed in this study 1) How is the Implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) method in class VII PAI subjects in SMP Negeri 03 Jatipuro Academic Year 2017/2018? 2) How is the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) method implementation in class VII PAI subjects in Jatipuro 03 Middle School 2017/2018 Academic Year? This study aims to find out and describe 1) Implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education in SMP Negeri 03 Jatipuro Academic Year 2017/2018. 2) Effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) method implementation in class VII PAI subjects in SMP Negeri 03 Jatipuro Academic Year 2017/2018. In this study using the method of field research, using a descriptive approach, in collecting data in the field researchers used the method of Observation, Interview, Documentation. This research was conducted for 3 months, while for data analysis using deductive analysis. The analysis uses PBL method, all students are able to organize their groups so that all members have their respective tasks to discuss, students are able to solve problems, can ask questions and answer questions given by teachers and friends, with this method students know how they must learn to respect others, the rise of the spirit of student learning and the classroom atmosphere to be alive and enjoyable. The results of research conducted by researchers are teaching methods conducted by Islamic Religious Education Teachers for seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 03 Jatipuro, namely having more religious studies by having four lessons namely Islamic Cultural History, Aqeedah Akhlak, Fiqh, and the Qur'an Hadith . The method used is especially when learning Aqidah religion by increasing student activity, increasing curiosity, analytical skills, and student initiative. The PBL method results for students in class VII of SMP Negeri 03 Jatipuro, that is after the PBL method is performed by the teacher, it can be seen from the changes that students have been active enough in learning also in solving problems, students are able to receive and understand learning well.
