Abstract

This study aims to describe the discipline of students in MTsN II Surakarta. The research object consist of (1) disciplinary cultivation process, (2) supporting factor and inhibiting factor, and (3) effort to overcome obstacle in instilling student discipline in MTsN II Surakarta. This research is a type of qualitative research by using entomic research design. Research subjects consist of principals, student co-principal, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers and students. Data were collected through participatory observation methods, in-depth interviews and documentation. Testing the validity of data in this study, researchers used triangulation test with triangulation of source and triangulation method. Model of analysis data in this research is done by interactive model or Miles model and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the process of disciplinary planting begins with planning, then the process of planting, guidance if there are deviations, and monitoring / evaluation, (2) supporting factors and inhibitors derived from personal students themselves, family environment, school and community environment, (3) efforts to overcome obstacles by giving special treatment, giving admonition, personal approach / guidance, giving punishment that educate, giving praise, strengthening socialization of discipline, motivate to be discipline, coordinate / cooperation with participant parent educate, identify problems, improve the order and improvement of guidance programs by prioritizing the problems of students.
