Abstract
The aim of this reduplication research on student’s narration are: (1) descripting reduplication process on student grade X SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang’s narration, and (2) descripting reduplication means on narration essay of student grade X SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang. The background of this research is the use of reduplication in narration essay which is needed for appealing and contains varieties words. This research are using descriptive qualitative methods. Data sources are found from student’s narration essay, which is students of grade X SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang. The result of this research are (1) the process of reduplication in student’s narration essay can be found in four condition, there are (a) repeating, there are 12 datas; (b) few repeating words are repeating from its original word. The original words are not fully repeated, but combined with adding some affix are 5 datas; (c) shape repeating of all fonem shape are found 3 datas; (d) repeating original shape with affix addition exist 4 datas. (2) reduplication means in student’s narration essay SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang are dominated by delivering the meaning of quantity and the amount of imajination the students wish to deliver.
