Abstract

This research used a quasi-experimental design with two-way analysis of variance with different cells that aims to determine the effect of differences in learning models, learning styles of students, and the interaction of both. The population in this research is class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta. The sample in this research consisted of two classes, namely VIII D and VIII G are selected technique by random sampling. Data was collected using the method of test, questionnaire, observation, and documentaton. Testing the validity of the instrument with product moment and reliability using Cronbach alpha. The conclusion of this study indicate that (1) there is the influence of the learning model Problem Based Learning in the experimental class and Project Based Learning in class control over mathematics learning outcomes. Application of model of learning Problem Based Learning is more effective than Project Based Learning, can be seen from the average value inclass Problem Based Learning 79,53 while the class Project Based Learning 67,23; (2) there is no difference in learning outcomes in students with learning style categories of visual, auditory, or kinesthetic; (3) on each model of learning with students learning style category visual, auditory, or kinesthetic have the same learning outcomes, as well as on each category of learning styles learning outcomes learning model Problem Based Learning is better than Project Based Learning.
