Abstract

This research aims to (1) know the application of spatial learning media on geography subjects in SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Panceng Gresik (2) know the learning result of geography using spatial learning media, and (3) know the improvement of spatial thinking ability of learners. This research is a quantitative research, pre experimental design with the design of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This design aims to determine the difference in the improvement of spatial thinking ability of learners after using spatial learning media. The population in this study are all students of class X IPS, XI IPS, and XII IPS SMA Muhammadiyah Panceng Gresik Regency Academic Year 2017/2018 which amounted to 30 students. Sampling with sampling method saturated means all members of the population into a sample of research. Data collection techniques used are documentation, observation, tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis technique in this research is test of normality and test of difference / hypothesis test. The result of the research shows that (1) application of spatial learning media on geography subjects in SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Panceng Gresik using cooperative learning method with group investigation study strategy run well and conducive, (2) Learning result using media spatial learning increased by 51%, and (3) increased spatial thinking ability after the application of spatial learning media on geography subjects based on T-test test of pretest and posttest data which showed significant value 0.000 which means < 0,05
