Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the correlation between self-confidence and conformity toward academic fraud carried out by college students. The population of this research was students in one of private universities spesifically class of 2014, 2015, and 2016. Research sample consisted of 105 students drawn using simple random sampling. Research instruments consisted of self-confidence questionnaire, conformity questionnaire, and academic fraud questionnaire. Data analysis method used in this research was multiple regression analysis. The result of analysis indicated significant correlation between self-confidence and conformity toward academic fraud in college students. Based on the analysis result, students tended to have high level of self-confidence, while their conformity and academic fraud tendency were considered lower. Effective contribution of self-confidence and conformity toward academic fraud was 14.2%, it indicated that 85.8% were predicted by other variables. Based on the result, it could be concluded that there was significant correlation between self-confidence and conformity toward academic fraud in college students.
