Abstract

ABSTRACT There are two objectives based on the scope of this research. The first is to identify the method used by ETP tutors (English Tutorial Program) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta from several different majors. The second purpose is to know the interaction between the students with ETP tutor (English Tutorial Program) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta from different majors. The type of this research is qualitative research. The tutor being observed from Department of English Education, Chemical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. Researcher makes observation to determine the methods used by each tutors. In addition, the researcher interviewed the tutors to obtain more information about ETP activities. The results of this reasearch all tutors use the same methods, that is Cognitive Code Learning. The equation can be seen from the way the tutor teaches and answers the tutor from the interview.
