Abstract

This study aims to improve the mastery of mathematical concepts and learning outcomes of students of class IX A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura through the implementation of a portfolio-based assessment model lesson study. This research is a classroom action research conducted during two cycles consisting of 6 meetings. Data collection techniques used include observation, field notes, interviews, documentation and testing. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study, the first implementation of the model portfolio assessment can improve their understanding of mathematical concepts and learning outcomes of students of class IX A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura. Both increasing mastery of math concepts and learning outcomes: 1) students who are able to know the characteristics of a concept first cycle were 17 students (56.67%), the second cycle increased to 19 students (63.33%), 2) students who are able familiar with some examples and is not an example of the concept of the first cycle as much as 6 students (20%), the second cycle increased to 26 students (86.67%), 3) students who can use the relationships between concepts first cycle as much as 5 students (16.67% ), the second cycle increased to 21 students (70%), 4) students can use concepts to solve math problems first cycle were 12 students (40%), the second cycle increased to 15 students (50%), 5) the mean value average grade at the end of sikuls II at 77.3 with the percentage of students who graduated by 80% KKM.
