Abstract
This study aimed to describe the increase interest and communication during the learning metematika in class VII H Banyudono 02 Junior High School second semester through strategies Problem Based Learning. This study includes classroom action research. The study was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, reflection, and evaluation. Subjects were 33 students of class VII H Banyudono 02 Junior High School. Data collection through observation, field notes, documentation, and testing. Data was analyzed with data qualitative analysis that compares interest and communication in the initial conditions, the cycle I, cycle II, cycle III and cycle IV. The results showed interest and communication in mathematics increased that can be seen from: 1) watch teacher in class before action 33,33%, cycle I 36,36%, cycle II 63,63%, cycle III 66,66%, and cycle IV 90,90%, 2) have will looking for problem solutions before action 0%, cycle I 21,21%, cycle II 33,33%, cycle III 60,60%, and cycle IV 84,84%, 3) active in class before action 0%, cycle I 15,15%, cycle II 27,27%, cycle III 48,48%, and cycle IV 90,90% 4) have courage to ask question before action 12,12%, cycle I 18,18%, cycle II 30,30%, cycle III 36,36%, and cycle IV 66,66% 5) express an opinion before action 6,06%, cycle I 15,15%, cycle II 27,27%, cycle III 48,48%, and cycle IV 63,63% 6) answer a question before action 18,18%, cycle I 24,24%, cycle II 36,36%, cycle III 60,60%, and cycle IV 78,78%. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of learning strategies Problem Based Learning can enhanced interest and communication in mathematics.
