Abstract

Fish Market is a market that specifically sells fresh fish and its derivatives. Fish markets usually exist because of the need for a place to sell fish commodities in an area. Polanharjo Sub-district is an area with a large freshwater fish producer due to the abundance of water sources there. The Polanharjo community utilizes this potential to make freshwater fish farming ponds such as catfish, carp, pomfret, and tilapia, but Polanharjo District has no place to sell these commodities, so the presence of this freshwater fish market can provide, facilitate, and accommodate freshwater fish farmers in Polanharjo so as to build the regional economy. The presence of the market is not just a building but by applying neo-vernacular architecture. Neo-vernacular architecture is a solution to present market buildings with culture, the meaning of this culture is to present Javanese architecture in market buildings. The results of planning and designing the Polanharjo freshwater fish market with a neo-vernacular architectural approach are a solution for the surrounding community.
