Abstract

Gondang Winangun sugar factory is a sugar factory located in Klaten Regency, Central Java. This factory was built in 1860. Over time, many of the facilities of the factory itself began to be neglected and neglected. The lack of budget to manage and re-operate the equipment for the sugar production process as before has led to lower production figures and reduced sources of income for this factory. So the managers began to look for investors to support sources of income by renting out several buildings to be occupied and utilized by investors. From the problems described, the purpose of planning and designing the Gondang Winangun sugar factory building is to be able to take advantage of the potential of the sugar factory and turn it into an educational and historical-based tourism so that it can attract tourists to want to visit and know the history of this sugar factory. The purpose of this conservation is to be able to take advantage of buildings that have been previously built and have been damaged to be repaired with a view to reviving this building so that it can be used as before and develop for the better. The strategy is to convert this sugar factory into a museum. By designing the museum using the concept of conservation in the Gondang Winangun sugar factory building, it is hoped that it will also be able to increase sources of income and generate the economy of the residents around the Gondang Winangun sugar factory.
